BIOGRAPHY
Ebony Tyler is a product leader in K–12 education technology and a doctoral student in Leadership and Innovation at New York University, with over 20 years of experience across education, school leadership, and organizational change. She currently serves as Director of Product Management at HMH, where she leads strategy for an AI-powered writing solution reaching millions of students and educators nationwide. Her career spans roles as a K-8 school principal, adjunct instructor, and product leader, shaping her enduring interest in inclusive leadership and the ways organizational culture influences outcomes for both adults and students. Across roles, her work has centered on improving working conditions, strengthening accountability, and addressing the structural drivers of employee retention, particularly for professionals of color.
As a scholar-practitioner, Ebony focuses on equity-centered systems change, examining how institutions translate values into practice through leadership decisions, performance expectations, and resource allocation. Her research and professional practice emphasize redesigning systems to better support those closest to the work while maintaining clarity, rigor, and scale. She approaches leadership as an act of stewardship, guided by purpose, responsibility, and a belief that lasting social impact emerges when people, systems, and mission are aligned.
